Meaningful Ageing Australia (MAA) is a non-profit peak body dedicated to enhancing the spiritual and emotional well-being of older people including those receiving aged care. Their mission is to foster an inclusive understanding of spiritual care and empower the aged care sector to support meaningful living.

Prime Super’s goal to help members reach a comfortable retirement aligns naturally with MAA’s goal of improving the holistic well-being of people as they age.

When a person’s basic needs are met, including their financial needs, they can more easily focus on nurturing their inner worlds and enjoy a more fulfilling future.

The partnership between MAA and Prime Super is exemplified by several shared initiatives. One such example is the leadership lunches we co-host, which facilitate discussions on building aged care sector capability in spiritual care and well-being. These events also provide valuable insights tailored for aged care providers to enhance their understanding of financial topics pertinent to the sector and members.

Additionally, MAA includes financial well-being articles and links to Prime Super’s website in their newsletters. This integration helps aged care providers with access to relevant information about superannuation, supporting their financial and understanding of spiritual well-being.

Regular meetings between Louie Gorgijeski, National Manager – Health & Aged Care, Prime Super, and Rachael Wass, CEO of MAA, further reinforced this strong ethical alignment and mutual support.

The positive impact of MAA’s programs, supported by Prime Super, includes the ‘Meet Akira’ program, an interactive learning experience for personal care assistants and home care workers. It has shifted interactions within aged care from transactional to meaningful, leading to improvements in the lives of older people. In a survey of support workers, 93% said they see spiritual care as part of their work, 90% would recommend ‘Meet Akira’ to other support workers.

The partnership between MAA and Prime Super, built on shared values, aims to improve the spiritual and emotional well-being of older people, especially those receiving care. Prime Super is proud to support this important work that is setting a benchmark for holistic care in the aged care sector.

“Prime Super’s support has been invaluable. Their commitment to maintaining financial security for members aligns with our focus on broader aspects of well-being, ensuring our programs make a real difference,” said Rachael Wass, CEO, Meaningful Ageing Australia.
